Discussion
Laboratory analysis of the soil sample taken belk,tc Tank 1 detected 'I'11114; at 820
parts per million (ppm), Toluene at 0.65 ppm, Ethyl licnzcne at 5.4 ppm, and Xylene at
7.6 ppm and IDB was not detected (ND).
Analysis of the soil sample taken from below Tank 2, detected TPII-G at 600
ppm, TPH-D was ND, Ethyl Benzene at 2.2 ppm, and Xylene at 3.5 ppm, ID13 \ras ND.
Analysis of the soil sample take from below Tank 3, detected TPII-G at 500 ppm,
TPH-D was ND, Toluene at 4.8 ppm, Ethyl Benzene at 3.6 ppm, and Xylene at 3.9 ppm,
IDB was ND.
Analysis of the water sample taken from adjacent to 'Tank 3, detected TPH-G at
1.4 ppm, TPH-D was ND, Benzene at 0.02 ppm, 'TOIUCRe at 0.028 ppm, Ethyl Benzene at
0.021 ppm, and Xylene at 0.027 ppm, EDB was ND.
A representative sample from the spoils stockpile associated with each tank
detected concentrations of TPH-G at 470 pptn, TPII-D was ND, Toluene at 2.5 ppm, Ethyl
Benzene at 2.2 ppm, and Xylene at 2.2 ppm, EDB was ND. fn addition to the above
analysis the spoils pile was analyzed with a 96 Ilour Bioassay analysis (at three
concentrations) to determine if soil relocated to the I:TP met the criteria for placing
the soil there. The 96 hr 3 concentration fish bioassay determined the sample to be
not hazardous.
Detectable concentrations of CAM 17 metals were identified in the laboratory
analysis for the spoils stockpile. Total Lead was found in all three soil samples
associated with Tanks 1-3. Enclosed in :Appendix D is a copy of the Chain of Custody
and laboratory report for all the analytical data collected.
3
