April 15, 1994
Pam Violett
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Division
P.O. Box 388
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
Dear Ms. Violett,
HEALTH
:rFiVICE
,a`-> ;, --i 18 PM 2: 39
Thank you for your letter dated 3/17/94 accepting Polar
Water's Monitoring and Response Plan. Duly noted was the
exception of "The preventive maintenance schedule for the
monitoring equipment". When Polar purchased the Petrometer
system, we were led to believe that it required no maintenance,
and in fact, pursuant to your letter, when I contacted Jim Thorpe
oil (specifically Rich Thorpe), the installing contractor, he
once again confirmed that. He indicated that he subsequently
spoke with you, and that you indicated that I should write a
letter to that effect which could be appended to my Monitoring
and Response Plan.
Because the Petrometer leak monitoring equipment installed
at Polar Water performs a self -check which would require reset,
regular maintenance is required only when an alarm condition
exists.
In future "Plans" I will add a line such as that above.
Regarding our Financial Responsibility requirement, I have
contacted our bank to assign a CD, however, we have not completed
that as yet. I had hoped to send that at this time, but will
forward that ASAP.
Thank
You,
R.W. Haase
General Manager
P.O.
