Any symptoms should be reported
immediately to their supervisor or the site safety officer.
Level D personal protective equipment (PPE) will be used at the
site. CHEMICAL HAZARDS MITIGATION
unnecessary contact with the contaminated materials shall be
avoided.
Latex gloves shall be worn when handling or sampling contaminated
materials .
Remote sampling devices such as a bailer for water samples shall be
used to minimize exposure to potentially contaminated materials.
When possible, operations shall be conducted upwind to lessen
exposure to air contaminants emanating from contaminated areas.
C. A 10-foot clearance from overhead
power lines shall be maintained.
Ear plugs shall be used when noise levels prevent conversation.
During periods of high temperature, frequent breaks in a shady spot
should be taken. Water should be drunk frequently.
During periods of low temperature, frequent breaks in a warm spot
should be taken. Drink hot liquids frequently. Wear multilayered
clothing.
