In addition to the electronic monitoring system, the shop
foreman is required to perform daily inventory reconciliation by
comparing tape/gauge readings to dispenser totalizer readings.
The preventive maintenance schedule is to be conducted by a
factory representative (Precision Industries) every six months to
service monitoring equipment.
Training for the tank system and the monitoring equipment was
conducted by the Petrometer Corporation initially in 1957 . The
process of how to monitor and operate the alarm system with
management and the shop foreman was according to the operation
criteria for the model 20 tank leak alarm unit.
A copy of the tank alarm description and operation are present
at the alarm system sites. Emergency shut off panels are present
at the east wall in the shop in Stockton, and located on the south
wall of the pesticide building at the Lodi facility.
The training process is reviewed quarterly, and associates
such duties to shop personnel and supervisory staff. This training
is conducted by the shop foreman.
In the case of an alarm condition, personnel will immediately
contact the supervisor/shop foreman to report the condition. The
response consists of dispatching a qualified technician to the site
to determine the cause of the alarm, and initiate a cleanup if
required. Response will be in accordance with the California
Administrative Code, Chapter 23 , Subchapter 16, Article 3 .
Response to an unauthorized release will be handled in the same
manner. In addition, the Office of Emergency Services (O.E. S. )
will be notified.
0: \WP\CWP\CW\UGTANKS. 93
