1.0 IlVTRODUCIION <br /> Under a work order issued under Pacific Bell's Master Agreement P06804, Versar, Inc. <br /> (Versar) provided environmental services associated with the removal of an underground <br /> storage tank (UST) at the Pacific Bell facility located at 1413 Bourbon Street in Stockton, <br /> California. The location of the facility is shown in Figure 1, with a layout of the UST site in <br /> Figure 2. Versac's services included the oversight of the disposal of the UST, soil sampling <br /> associated with the removal of the UST, and corresponding soil excavation; disposal of <br /> excavated soils and the reporting of all removal activities. <br /> 1.1 Background <br /> At the property, one 1,000-gallon UST which contained diesel fuel was present to <br /> provide fuel to a on-site backup generators. The tank was single walled, of steel construction, <br /> and had been in operation for a number of years. The removal of the tank is part of Pacific <br /> Bell's statewide upgrading plans.
