It is the contractor's responsibility to conform to the provisions of all relevant laws, codes, ordinances, rules and <br /> regulations. Work shall not commence without approved plans unless specifically allowed by the Fire Marshal. All <br /> inspections require the "APPROVED"job copy and job card to be available on the job site. <br /> Inspections — unless unusual circumstances arise, the developer shall provide at least twenty-four hours notice to <br /> the Fire Department to arrange an inspection. Inspection requests may be made by calling the telephone number <br /> listed above and scheduling either an A-M, inspection (9:00 a,m. to 11:00 a.m.) or a P.M. inspection (1:30 p.m. to 4.00 <br /> P.M,), <br /> Additional Fire Inspection Feels) — Additional fee(s) will be imposed for any additional fire inspections that are <br /> requested. <br /> Additlonal Fire Department iVotes: <br /> 1 Vehicle Fueling Operations — Fuel dispensing shall be in accordance with the California Fire Code. The <br /> following shall be applicable: <br /> a. Dispensing operations shall not occur within 10 feet of property lines and/or buildings with combustible siding; <br /> b. Location of emergency shut-down device shall be no further than 100 feet from the fuel dispensing area but <br /> not less than 20 feet from the dispensers,- <br /> c. <br /> ispensers;c. Unsupervised dispensing shall be allowed as long as instructions are posted for the safe operation of <br /> dispensing equipment, and posted telephone numbers of owners/operators; <br /> d. Sources of ignition (smoking and open flames) shall be prohibited within 25 feet of dispenser islands; <br /> e. Signage shall be installed prohibiting smoking, dispensing into unapproved containers and engine shut-off <br /> during fueling; <br /> f. Portable fire extinguishers shall be Installed at the fuel dispensing island. Fire extinguishers shall have a <br /> minimum rating of 4A.40BC; <br /> g. A minimum clearance of 10 feet shall be maintained around the fuel dispensing area from any type of <br /> combustible materials (l,e., weeds, grass, brush, trash or other combustibles). <br /> v/2 Labeling of Piping —All pipes containing hazardous liquids, regardless of the nature of the material, must be labeled <br /> evp 2r�_ 0 feet with the name of the pipe's contents and with an arrow indicating direction of flow.
