Main Street
Stockton, CA 95202-3029
SUBJECT: Information requested from Harlin Knoll, per phone conversation(I-18-2008)
Corrections to the Kleinfelder Report, Dated: January 3, 2008
Underground Storage Tank Assessment at Granite Construction Company
Dear Mr. Knoll,
Granite Construction Company is making corrections to the statements written in the Background
information in the Kleinfelder report. The five underground tanks that Granite Construction
Company is abandoning-in-place contained bituminous asphalt that was either AR4000 and/or
AR-8000.
The underground tanks do not contain PG 64-10, because the use of this product commenced in
2006.
The underground tanks do not contain SC-800, because the tank that would have stored this
material was abandoned and filled with concrete slurry (see Tank#6,abandoned in 1998).
Per our phone conversation on Friday,January 18,2008, attached is additional information that
you've requested:
1. An MSDS referencing AR-4000&AR-8000
2. Granite Construction has communicated with Captain John Gish and Fire Chief Richard
Rallios, of the French Camp Fire District and explained to them the project on Thursday, January
24, 2008.
Please contact me at(209)234-3529 with any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Brian Hoffman
Environmental Coordinator
Cc: Syd DeVries, Plants Manager
Hop Essick, Branch Manager
Jeff Otto, Assistant Plants Manager
Doug Heard, Kleinfelder Stockton Branch
Box 151
Stockton,CA 95201
(209)982-4750
FAX(209)983-1257
