Geoflex
252 Welsh Pool Road
Lionville, PA 19341
RE: REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF GEOFLEX II PIPING FOR USE IN
UNDERGROUND TANK SYSTEMS
Geoflex II primary can be used for primary piping, and has UL -USA approval for this use.
Geoflex II secondary piping can be used as a secondary containment system, and has UL -
USA approval, if the following conditions of approval can be met:
1. Piping must be installed so that it is sloped so that all releases will flow to a
collection sump located at the low point of the underground piping. CCR, Title 23,
Section 2636 (c)
2. Secondary containment system must pass a minimum 5 psi pressure test for 30
minutes prior to covering piping trench. Uniform Fire Code
3. Primary and secondary containment system must pass a percisson test upon
completion of final covering including all cement work. H & S Code, Section 25291
(h)
4. Because the piping is flexible and may move in the back fill due to changes in
pressure in the line, and because this may cause abrasion of the secondary, secondary
piping must be tested every two years hydrostatically, or other approved method, if it
is to be placed directly in the back fill. If the piping is placed in the protective
containment tubing provided by Environ, no additional secondary pipe testing will be
required.
5. All piping installed within San Joaquin County must bear the UL -USA label approval
statement shown below, which was provided by Environ for this approval. Failure to
have the proper label on each piece of pipe will be grounds for disapproval.
'MHBI00 100 PSI PRIMARY & 10 PSI SECONDARY MAX WORKING PRESSURE - FOLLOW INSTALLATION
INSTRUCTIONS- 95192911 LISTED NONMETALLIC SECONDARY CONTAINMENT PIPING FOR PETROLEUM
PRODUCTS.
