H. Kleinfelder & Associates is pleased to submit this proposal
for soil sampling beneath an underground storage tank. The tante
is approximately 7-1/2 feet in diameter and has reportedly been
used to store weed oil, a light oil petroleum
product.
understanding that the stored oil did not contaa'nany herbicides
or polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Our scope of services and
information is based on conversations with your office and San
Joaquin County Department of Environmental Health.
Sco a of Work
A truck -mounted drill rig using hollow stem auger will be
used to drill two angled soil borings terminating beneath the
storage tank. A Kleinfelder geologist will log the borings and
collect one soil sample from each tank at approximately five feet
beneath the in-place tank. To minimize cross -contamination,
augers and associated equipment will be steam -cleaned prior to
the drilling of each bore hole. Samplers will be washed with a
trisodium phosphate solution and rinsed with distilled water
between samples.
