All tools shall be kept clean and in good condition. <br /> C. Any cable or pipe choker that is frayed or worn shall not <br /> be used. <br /> D. Any chain that shows signs of the links being stretched <br /> shall not be used. <br /> E . Any tool with a wooden handle such as a shovel or hammer <br /> with a broken or splintered handle shall not be used. <br /> HOUSEKEEPING <br /> A. Keep and maintain as clean a work area as is reasonably <br /> possible . <br /> B . Keep small tools, debris, dirt and asphalt chunks away <br /> from the edge of trenches, a minimum of 2 feet, to avoid <br /> someone from kicking, pushing or dropping items on an <br /> unsuspecting workman below. <br /> C. Keep the work area behind the main operation as neat and <br /> orderly as possible not only for employees safety, but <br /> public safety. <br /> D. Barricade possible hazards and obstruction when they <br /> cannot be alleviated immediately and are in the path of <br /> fellow workmen or the public . <br /> TRENCHES AND EXCAVATIONS <br /> A. No one shall enter a trench or excavation that is over 4 ' <br /> in depth, unless the trench or excavation has been <br /> properly sloped or shored. <br /> B . Any trench which shows signs of cracking, shifting or <br /> similar irregularities, regardless of the depth, shall <br /> not be entered. <br /> 19 SITE SAFETY PIAN <br />
