We are also currently investigating various above ground and below ground ( double wall tanks/double wall piping) alternatives . Please be assured that it is our intention to comply with federal, state , and county regula- tions regarding the storage of bulk solvents . In the interim, I would like to offer the following pro- posal for our internal monitoring of these existing tanks . 1. ) The contents of tank #5 ( unleaded gasoline ) have been transferred to tank #2 . Tank #5 will remain empty until its removal. 2 . ) Tank #1 will continue to remain empty. 3 . ) Tank #9 ( 100 lacquer thinner ) will be pumped dry and will remain empty in the ground until removed . (Target date for pumping dry is 5/15/87 . ) 4 . ) Tank #7 ( acetone ) will be pumped dry (Target date for this is 5/15/87 ) and will remain empty in the ground until removed. 5 . ) Tank #2 ( unleaded gasoline ) will be monitored using alternative #5 . Daily inventory reconciliation will continue (we 've been monitoring all tanks since October, 1986 ) , and a quarterly statement will be submitted detail- ing our compliance with allowable variations . A maximum of 1, 000 gallons will be inventoried in this tank at any time . A precision test will be conducted on this tank by December 15 , 1987 , or, tank will be emptied for subsequent removal at a later date . 6 . ) Tanks #3 ( toluene ) , #4 (methyl ethyl ketone ) , #6 ( PM acetate ) , #8 ( xylene ) , and #10 ( 110 lacquer thinner) will continue to be monitored on a daily basis using an inventory recon- ciliation method of monitoring. Input and output are monitored (meter) , and daily tank gauging is conducted. This report could be supplied to your department on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis . Cont ' d . . .
