• SWMU No. 1 - Manufacturing Area: Concrete floor epoxy coated inside
warehouse appear to be intact and separate site usage from potential result of past
waste generating operation within the warehouse and groundwater conditions do
not indicted a release from past operations.
• SWMU No. 2 - Holding Tank and Sump Area: End of the grated trenches for waste
water pipe secondary containment currently filled with sediment laded water and
recent soil sample data collected north of the sump did not indicated release of waste.
• SWMU No. 3 — Waste (water) Treatment Area: North side of building secondary
containment currently filled and capped with concrete and recent soil sample data
collected within SWMU did not indicated release of waste.
• SWMU No. 4 — Hazardous Waste Storage Pad: Northeast appears clean and no
residual waste was present during the 2004 inspection.
• SWMU No. 5 — Former Wastewater Treatment Unit Area: Deep concrete, epoxy
coated pit approximately 20 feet deep, 50 feet wide and 150 feet long with tank
support of concrete for treatment of wastewater by former owner/tenant Shinko.
Historical soil/groundwater did not indicated release of waste. Closed by the EHD
and City of Manteca. Groundwater samples collected surrounding the base depth
of the pit (20 feet) demonstrate, historically and contemporaneously, that no
release from the operation treatment unit has impacted the subject property.
• SWMU No. 6 — Former Bulk Chemical Storage Area: Shallow concrete pit, 50 feet
wide and 150 feet long with tank support of concrete for storage of chemical used
to process metals, decontaminate freshwater, treatment of wastewater by former
owner/tenant Shinko. Historical soil/groundwater did not indicated release of waste;
Closed by EHD and DHS.
• SWMU No. 7 - Underground Holding Tank at the Pre -Sewer Discharge Sump
Area: Connection pipe to the City of Manteca (concrete vault surrounding).
Wastewater was treated to standard acceptable for Manteca and therefore not
hazardous. Recent soil sample data collected east and west of the sump did not
indicated release of waste.
The results of laboratory analysis identified levels of contaminants below their
respective Federal and State regulatory standards/screening levels or at
concentrations below laboratory reporting levels. The results of soil sampling and
analysis indicate no identifiable source or significant residual contamination in
subsurface soils within the unsaturated zone that represent a current or future
threat to groundwater.
• Similarly, no significant groundwater impacts have been identified, with the exception
of a single sample (SB1-W, discussed above) collected in June 1995. Subsequent
soil and groundwater sample analysis did not reveal a surface release or significant
impact to groundwater. In addition, although several metals (arsenic, chromium,
copper, nickel, and zinc) and VOCs (chloroform, toluene, and xylenes) were detected
Statement of Basis for Former Advanced Interconnect Technologies, Inc.
