O8 September 2000
AGE -NC Project No. 97-0372
Reporting
Prepare a report of findings.
In addition to the samples collected for laboratory analysis, two collocated or replicate soil samples,
or a minimum of 5% of samples submitted for laboratory analysis, will be collected and travel and
equipment blanks will be utilized for quality assurance and quality control purposes. AGE anticipates
that the replicate samples will be analyzed, the blanks will be analyzed if cross -contamination of
samples is suspected.
4.0. QUALITY ASSURANCE AND QUALITY CONTROL
To ensure that data collected is of adequate quality, AGE will take the following measures:
• All field personnel will be adequately trained in the proper collection techniques for the type
of samples to be collected and the type of analyses required. In addition, all field personnel
will have completed a 40 -hour Health and Safety Course as specified in OSHA Hazardous
Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard [29 CFR 1910.120(e)], and 8 -hour
annual refresher courses as necessary.
• Analytical laboratories selected to provide samples analyses will be certified by the
California Department of Health Services for the analytical services provided.
• Field logs will be maintained for all field activities, including documentation of sample
collection, description of sampling activity and rational for variation from this work plan,
sampling methodology used, equipment calibration data, personnel involved in field work,
all field measurements, relevant environmental conditions, and any other pertinent data that
may affect data quality.
• Samples will be preserved in the field as described in this work plan in Sections 5.2 and 5.3.
• Samples will be logged on a chain -of -custody that will accompany the samples from the field
to the receiving laboratory. Each change of custody will be documented.
• The laboratory report will note the condition of the samples upon receipt on the chain -of -
custody form, a copy of which will be included in the final report.
• All samples selected for analysis will be analyzed within standard holding times.
• Samples will be analyzed according to EPA methods noted in Sections 5.5 and 5.6 of this
work plan.
Advanced GeoEn,ironmental, Inc
