Frank C. Alegre Trucking Company,Inc. 4203-172A
Former Trucking Facility January 31, 1997
WORK PLAN FOR DRAINAGE Revised February 25, 1997
POND INVESTIGATION(PHASE ONE) Page 4
Duplicate and Background Soil Samples
As part of the soil sampling program, a duplicate soil sample will be prepared from one of the
central pond area soil samples. The duplicate sample will be submitted for identical laboratory
analyses. In order to establish potential background contaminant levels, a near surface soil sample
(six inches) will be recovered outside of the pond area(Figure 2). The background sample will be
tested for metals and organochlorine pesticides.
Rennrt Preparation and Data Analysis
Following completion of field and laboratory activities, an evaluation of the extent of contaminated
materials will be developed. Based on the reported concentrations for the organic/inorganic
compounds, an evaluation of the potential exposure risks and potential ground-water impacts will
be developed.
Given the results of the initial investigation, recommendations for further characterization and/or
monitoring will be provided. Additional phases of work could include additional exploratory soil
borings and/or ground-water monitoring wells. A final report will be prepared which summarizes
the field and laboratory test data, and will include conclusions regarding the extent of possible soil
and/or ground-water contamination. The report will be prepared and signed by a State of California
Certified Hydrogeologist.
We are pleased to have the opportunity to provide this work plan. If you have any questions
regarding the proposed scope of the field or laboratory services, please contact our office.
Very truly yours,
ENGEO INCORPORATED Reviewed by:
Shawn Munger Brian Flaherty
Manager, Environmental Services Vice President
Certified Hydrogeologist 413 Certified Engineering Geologist 1256
sm/lb:pin
Attachments: Figures 1 and 2
Health and Safety Plan
cc: 1 - San Joaquin County,Ms. Kasey Foley
I -California Regional Water Quality Control Board,Ms. Wendy Cohen
1 -California Department of Toxic Substances Control,Mr. Duncan Austin
