Catanyag ENViRuNMENT HEALTH October 3, 2002 PERMIT/SERVICES Dear Dennis, On September 6, 2002,you visited our location and asked that all items needing attention or correction be put in writing in a certification of return to compliance and sent to your attention. Listed below are the items in violation as noted on your report and corrections that were made in order to establish compliance: # 13 66265.32 (A)(CCR) Internal communication or alarm system not provided. On September 24, a set of two-way radios was purchased for communication between the chemical room and thefront office.A procedure was established and reviewed with all personnel involved A copy of the procedure was placed in the chemical room near the radio, as well as in thefrom office near the other radia. #15 66265.32 (C)(CCR) Spill control equipment, and/or decontamination equipment not provided. On September 12, 2002, an eyewash station was ordered for the chemical room. It was received and mounted on the side wall on September 18, 2002. In addition, the absorbent material drum was labeled accordingly.All other spill control equipment was available and in compliance at the time of the visit. #19 25201 (A)(HSC) Stored hazardous waste on site longer than 90 days without a permit or authorization. 1) Two drums of Jem Strip waste-Drums picked up by Ramos Environmental on 9127102. (See Document#21928491 item B) 2) One drum of oiUwater mixture-Drum picked up by Ramos Environmental on 10/3/02. (See Document#21928504) 3) One drum of paint related waste-Drum picked up by Ramos Environmental on 9/27102. (See Document#21928490) 4) Two drums of sandblast waste-Both drums picked up by Ramos Environmental on 9127/02. (See Document#21928491 item A) 5) One drum of paint sludge-Drum picked up by Ramos Environmental on 9127102. (See Document#21928491 item B) 6) Seven drums of sandblast waste -Due to three of the drums being only partially full, we were able to consolidate to six drums. These drums were picked up by Ramos Environmental on 1013/02. (See Document#21928503)
