The following information outlines all details and facts
of this incident.
COMPANY:
Indy Electronics Inc.
400 Industrial Park Drive
P.O. Box 2301
Manteca, Ca. 95336
( 209 ) 239 - 4444
CONTACT:
Gordon W. Butler
Environmental Manager
(209) 239 - 4444 ext. 388
On the above mentioned date and time, a control transformer,
in the electrical control panel of our waste water treatment
system burned out. This transformer is designed to control the
liquid level sensors through out the system. These sensors in
turn operate the transfer pumps, when the liquid in the
collection tank and the equalization tanks, reaches a certain
level .
When this transformer malfunctioned, the liquid from our
plating shops continued to fill the 550 gallon collection tank
and the 3 , 000 gallon, below grade, containment for this tank.
When the containment was full , the liquid ran into the parking
lot of our facility, where it was noticed by a security officer.
Security, immediately called the facilities technician on duty of
the problem and proceeded to inform the plating areas to shut
down their operation.
QUALITY 0 SERVICE • CYCLE TIME
