DESIGN OF WASTE RECOVERY TANK
The underground waste recovery tank is located approximately 30 feet
from the rear of the Building. The tank is of concrete construction
with a volume of 3600 gallons, and was constructed in 1980 without a
secondary container . This tank was designed such that no monitoring
or visual inspection is presently possible . It is buried at a depth
of 15 feet from the bottom of the asphalt, and is located
approximately 5 feet from the southwest property line . Please see the
section UPGRADING WASTE STORAGE AREA.
A. Design
1 . GROUNDWATER TESTS
Waste is generated during the manufacturing processes of large scale
integrated circuit boards . Within the Fabrication area, chemicals are
stored and isolated according to the manner in which they react with
other chemicals and accordance to the degree of activity. Adequate
ventilation is provided to assure personnel safety. Separate UL
approved storage cabinets are provided for incompatible chemicals .
Safe handling precautions for hazardous chemicals are similar for
those for storage . In both situations, the precautions are designed
to protect against the same hazardous properties, and consequently
safe handling depends upon the application of such confinement of
chemicals, isolation of violently reactive chemicals, quantity
limitations, protection of personnel against corrosive and toxic
hazards and control of unstable material .
TF
1_RWVWWW IF
