?age 2 TL 386-018-00 <br /> 2. 0 OBJECTIVES OF INVESTIGATION <br /> The purpose of our investigation was to evaluate the <br /> 4 u b a u r f a c a conditions at the project a i t e and provide <br /> geotechnical design parameters and recommendations for use in the <br /> design and construction of the proposed project. <br /> The project will be located near the existing a; id waste <br /> facility , which includes an underground pipe and storage tank. <br /> Evaluation of the existing conditions of the pipeline and tank , <br /> and the chemical characteristics of the soils beneath Che <br /> pipeline and tank were beyond the scope of' this report. <br /> A summary of the actions taken during our investigation is <br /> outlined as follows: <br /> i <br /> i <br /> j 1. A site plan for the proposed project was reviewed. <br /> 2. A site reconnaissance and a subsurface exploration were <br /> conducted. <br /> 3. Laboratory tests were conducted to determine the <br /> physical and engineering properties of the subsurface <br /> soils. <br /> 4. The project engineer , Mr. Tony Lopes of Seigfried and <br /> Associates , was consulted regarding our findings during <br /> the course of the investigation. <br /> 5. The data obtained from our investigation were analyzed <br /> to develop an understanding of the subsurface <br /> conditions and engineering properties of the subsoils <br /> on which to base recommendations for the design and <br /> construction of foundations. <br /> 6.
