Lodi Metal Tech, Inc.
Chronology of Events
Wastewater Release 8/24/2006
08/25/06 14:40
The City of Lodi Public Works Department Permit issued an encroachment permit. Mr.
Merrill returned with it to the Beckman Rd./E. Pine St. intersection. Ed Gomez, a City of
Lodi employee, had just arrived on site and was setting up traffic diversion. At the Kelly
SUE. Pine St. intersection, water flowing into the through the storm drain system into the
sump, and water being pumped from the storm drain sump into the sewer were very clear.
Therefore the access covers were replaced and the pumping operation was moved to the
Beckman Rd./Pine St. intersection.
08/25/06 14:50
The storm drain system sump at the intersection of Beckman Rd. and E. Pine St. was
pumped dry.
08/25/06 15:05
Flush water coming from LMT storm drain#8 began flowing into the storm drain sump
at the Beckman Rd./E. Pine St. intersection. When the sump was almost full, it was
pumped directly to the sanitary sewer system. This process was repeated several times.
08/25/06 16:00
Mr. Merrill and Jamie of Jim Thorpe Oil determine the water flowing into the sump was
clean. Rather than rush the process, they continued to flush the storm drain system and
pumped the sump two more times.
08/25/06 16:20
Mr. Merrill asked Mr. Ed Gomez of the City of Lodi to check the water clarity. Mr.
Gomez agreed the water was indeed clean. The pumping was stopped, the hoses were
removed, and access hatches are replaced. Traffic cones are picked up and all
participants departed.
08/25/06 16:35
Mr. Merrill called Mr. George Bradley to inform him that the flushing and pumping
process was complete. Mr. Bradley had already been told about the completion of the
flushing and pumping process by Mr. Gomez. Mr. Bradley was satisfied that LMT had
responded correctly to the situation.
08/25/06 16:50
Mr. Merrill called Raul Lomeli of the State Fish and Game Department and summarized
the operation, again noting that none of the released wastewater had entered the Delta
watershed. Mr. Lomeli thanked Mr. Merrill for his call and for following through with
the clean up process.
6 of 6
