• • <br /> SILGAN CONTAINERS CORPORATION, STOCKTON CALIFORNIA <br /> JOB RESPONSIBILITIES FOR HAZARDOUS WASTE & MATERIALS MANAGEMENT <br /> Applicable Positions: #9 <br /> PLANT SUPERINTENDENT <br /> RCRA-RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> • Conducts RCRA personnel training requirements with the assistance of the Division <br /> Environmental Department <br /> • Maintains RCRA job descriptions and associated training needs and keeps information on file <br /> for inspections. <br /> • Maintains employee training records and ensures all positions are adequately trained. <br /> • Maintains the plant safety boards for the HMIS program. <br /> • Specifies plant inventory of Personal Protection Equipment. <br /> • Serves as a plant Emergency Response Coordinator and directs activities during a spill, fire, <br /> reaction, or release involving hazardous waste. <br /> • • Decides on, with key managers, strategies and objectives to safely respond to emergencies. <br /> • Secures representative waste samples and ensures proper handling of waste samples. <br /> Completes and maintains file of waste sampling paperwork. <br /> • Provides personal injury assistance; secures outside assistance as needed. <br /> SKILLS EDUCATION OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: <br /> • High school or college education, or equivalent work experience. <br /> • Effective communication skills. <br /> • First aid training. <br /> • Familiarization with local medical emergency assistance agents. <br /> • Working knowledge of chemical hazards and personal protection equipment requirements <br /> applicable to the facility. <br /> • Working knowledge of the wastes generated and spill and emergency hazards at the plant. <br /> • Working knowledge of the plant Contingency Plant for chemical emergencies and spills, <br /> including fire and evacuation procedures. <br /> • Working knowledge of the labeling, placarding, and shipping paperwork required for <br /> hazardous waste. <br /> • Knowledge of sampling techniques, documentation and handling procedures. <br /> 12 <br />
