0 • <br /> • SILGAN CONTAINERS CORPORATION, STOCKTON CALIFORNIA <br /> JOB RESPONSIBILITIES FOR HAZARDOUS WASTE & MATERIALS MANAGEMENT <br /> Applicable Positions: #10 <br /> COATER/COIL LEAD SUPERVISOR <br /> RCRA-RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> • Acts as a Primary Emergency Coordinator, for communications and reports; decides on, with <br /> key managers, strategies and objectives to safely respond to emergencies. Notifies <br /> governing CERCLA and/or RCRA authorities of the occurrence of immediately reportable <br /> quantities of hazardous material/waste releases; or the local emergency response contacts <br /> for smaller quantities that may affect passersby, or create a traffic hazard. <br /> • Insure that all policies and procedures related to hazardous material and waste, including <br /> health and safety, are strictly adhered to by all plant employees on a daily basis. <br /> • Provide guidance to employees concerning information about wastestreams generated within <br /> the plant and the hazards associated with waste chemicals. <br /> • Provide guidance to employees of proper plant routine waste management procedures. <br /> • • Insure that all employees are aware of and follow the Plant Emergency Procedures in <br /> the Hazardous Material Management Plan manual in the event of a plant emergency. <br /> • Reviews Hazardous Material Management Plan on an annual basis; meanwhile, immediately <br /> incorporates necessary changes, and issues copies of substantive updates to applicable <br /> authorities. <br /> • Completes waste profile information and secures review with EAD. Provides for laboratory <br /> analysis as needed, with the guidance of EAD for parameters, methods, and suitable labs. <br /> • Interprets the hazards associated with the type of emergency. <br /> • Determines the necessity for evacuation of plant personnel and immediate neighborhood. <br /> • Serves as a plant Emergency Response Coordinator and directs activities during a spill, fire, <br /> reaction, or release involving hazardous waste. <br /> • Assures all labels, placarding and shipment paperwork is in order prior to release to <br /> transports. <br /> • Assures Transporter is properly permitted, licensed and insured <br /> • Conducts a visual inspection of transport vehicle prior to loading of waste containers and <br /> reports potential problems to Plant Manager. <br /> • Tracks all shipment manifests and notifies Plant Manager if TSDF copies are not received <br /> • within 35 days of shipment date. Maintains active regulatory paperwork file for shipments. <br /> 13 <br />
