• .. logo,
samples are taken. Samples will be taken from the top 2 inches of soil and sent to
a State approved analytical laboratory for analysis for copper and zinc, on a total
basis (TTLC). The samples will be archived to permit additional analyses should
this be desired following a review of analytical data.
• Confirmation sampling following cleanup of all used sand will include six soil
samples from the top 2 inches of soil from those areas previously holding used
sand. These will be analyzed for copper and zinc on a total basis (TTLC), and the
samples archived as outlined above for the background samples.
• Analytical results from background and confirmation samples will be reviewed
with the DTSC, and a decision regarding the adequacy of cleanup, or the need for
additional soil removal, will be made with input from DTSC.
Sampling and analysis of used sand and removed soil, and disposal of all removed
material, will be as outlined in the Work Plan.
6.0 Report Preparation
Following completion of the cleanup, with concurrence from the DTSC that residual
levels of copper and zinc are acceptable, and disposal of all removed material, a Report
of Cleanup will be prepared as outlined in the Work Plan and submitted to the DTSC and
the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(SJCEHD).
7.0 Sandblasting Operation
Sandblasting operations will be conducted as outlined in the Work Plan, except that used
sand will be stored in a covered bin prior to disposal, at least until sample analyses show
this material to be non-hazardous.
8.0 Health and Safety
The Health and Safety Plan included in Appendix 3 in the Work Plan is unchanged.
9.0 Remarks and Signatures
This addendum incorporates suggestions and remarks from the DTSC on the Work Plan
dated 1/26/04.
