w.- <br /> ' ENVIRONEERING, INC. <br /> el� Process Engineering,Water Reuse, and Accident Prevention <br /> 04 JUN -4 PM 1: 3' <br /> June 3, 2004 <br /> ,err <br /> Mr. William Kilgore <br /> Department of Toxic Substances Control <br /> 8800 Cal Center Blvd. <br /> Sacramento, CA 95826 <br /> Re: Cleanup Status - Tom Newhall Boat Repair <br /> k Dear Mr. Kilgore: <br /> x This is a brief status report of the cleanup of contaminated sand from the <br /> sandblasting of boat bottoms at Tom Newhall Boat Repair. <br /> Used sand and soil were picked up and placed in a 20 yd. bin, sampled and <br /> analyzed by 4/12/04. <br /> Background samples were taken and analyzed by 4/22/04. <br /> Confirmation samples were taken and analyzed by 5/4/04. Results were above <br /> background in all samples, so two additional samples were taken at different <br /> depths to provide guidance re additional cleanup. These results were received <br /> 5/26. <br /> Additional soil was removed on 5/29/04. Soil from two areas was added to the bin <br /> of hazardous waste to be sent to Chemical Waste Management (CWM) at <br /> Kettleman, and soil from the remaining four areas was placed in a different bin to <br /> be sent to Forward Landfill in Stockton. <br /> Confirmation sampling was completed on 6/1/04. Results should be available the <br /> week of 6/6/04.
