Each area includes heavy
concrete surfaces which provide required support to allow boats to be moved,
stored, and worked on, as appropriate to the operation. The south area is
essentially all concrete, with small areas of"dirt" or grass around the north and
east sides. The south area slopes generally south to the water.
The south area is approximately 200 feet wide (east/west), 150 feet deep
(north/south) at the east end, tapering to approximately 80 feet deep(north/south)
at the west end. Boats are lifted from the water at a dock at the south east end, and
placed on appropriate stands at a desired location on the work surface. The
number of boats occupying this area varies, depending upon the work load. Boats
are generally placed around the north perimeter, leaving the remainder of the area
free to provide access to the boats being worked on.
Prior to establishing a single sandblasting station in the north area(early 2004), a
boat to be sandblasted would be placed in any of a number of spots in the south
area, depending upon available space. It was always on the concrete pad, and the
used sand was generally contained with plastic sheets, plywood sheets, etc. to
keep it close to the boat being sandblasted. The used sand was picked up at the
conclusion of sandblasting, and moved to the north area and placed on the ground
at the north east corner, as shown in the Work Plan.
We hope that this provides the information desired. If not, please call me or Mr.
Newhall for additional details.
S' c rely,
G. W. Roy, P. c.c. T.Newhall
P.O.Box 2498,Danville,CA 94526 • (925)838-1763 Fax(925)838-9621
