Covey, Inc. (HBC) describes the basic safety <br /> requirements for performing underground storage tank (UST) removals and soil and water <br /> sampling at the U-HaullAmerco Deal Estate (U-Haul) Facility Number 7LYi 2:3 located at-r-7s 1 <br /> T r.,. ©`Skr, I#,-�_,&t S-IrvA�A,, Califomia. <br /> The scope of work for this project includes the removal and disposal of one b,000-gallon <br /> gasoline tank and one 11" tank. Both the waste oil and gasoline tanks are of fiberglass <br /> construction. Tank appurtenances include dispensers, piping, electrical controls, and vent piping. <br /> Site operations will include sawcutting, removal of electrical connections and system <br /> appurtenances, concrete removal, excavation, tank rinsing, soil sampling, tank removal, <br /> backfilling, resurfacing, tank and soil disposal. <br /> The facility is surrounded by a chain link fence that is locked during non-business hours to <br /> prohibit public access. <br /> The provisions herein will apply to the employees of HBC, U-Haul and any subcontractor <br /> working at a subject site. The subcontractors may elect to modify these provisions, but only to <br /> upgrade or increase the safety requirements, and only then with written approval from HBC's <br /> Senior Safety Officer. <br /> This Health and Safety Plan addresses the potential hazards that may arise from performing the <br /> work and from interactions with U-Haul employees at this site and the emergency response <br /> community. In response to changing conditions at the site, HBC will modify the Health and <br /> Safety Plan, to meet new requirements. <br />
