All HBC employees employed in environmental assessment and remediation activities <br /> will have completed 40-hour health and safety training for hazardous site workers, and <br /> required refresher courses, as mandated by Federal OSHA 29 CFR 1910 requirements. <br /> B. Site workers will be required to attend site-specific briefings relating to the operations <br /> and materials to be encountered during the project. These briefings will be conducted by <br /> the Site Safety Officer and may include practical instruction regarding the hazards to be <br /> expected, and protective and preventive measures to be utilized. <br /> C. Employees will be required to have instruction in the use of fire extinguishers and fire <br /> prevention procedures. Included in this training will be: <br /> 1. Names of employees and alternates responsible for safety and health; <br /> 2. Acute and chronic effects of exposure to hazardous substances at the site; <br /> 3. OSHA rights and responsibilities; <br /> 4. Monitoring procedures; <br /> 5. Operating procedures; <br /> b. Personal Protective Equipment; <br /> 7. Decontamination; and, <br /> 8. Emergency Procedures. <br /> D. All subcontractor personnel involved in the project will be required to complete similar <br /> training and to attend all site-specific safety briefings. <br /> E. Specific training methods will stress the need for personal hygiene and decontamination <br /> procedures, use of the "Buddy System" and personal protective equipment. <br /> SECTION >.0 <br />
