POAW <br /> A94 <br /> CITY OF STOCKT IN <br /> CITY HALL <br /> STOCKTON,CA 95202-1997 <br /> STOCKTON FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> REQUIREMENTS FOR REMOVAL, ABANDONMENT, <br /> UNIFORM FIRE CODE 79 . 113 PLACING TEMPOP.ARILY OUT OF SERVICE OF <br /> UNDERGROUND FLAMMABLE LIQUID STORAGE TANKS <br /> GENERAL <br /> A permit shall be obtained to remove, abandon, place temporarily out of <br /> service or otherwise dispose of any underground flammable or combustible <br /> liquid tank. Any tank not used for a period of ninety (90) days , shall be <br /> properly safeguarded or removed. <br /> TEMPORARILY OUT OF SERVICE <br /> Tanks "temporarily out of service" shall be purged and have the fill line, <br /> gauge opening and pump connection secured against tampering. Vent lines <br /> shall remain open and be maintained in accordance with this article for <br /> vent lines . <br /> Tanks which are to be placed back in service shall be tested in a manner <br /> approved by this Department . <br /> REMOVAL OF UNDERGROUND FLAMMABLE LIQUID TANK <br /> Any underground tank which has been abandoned for a period of one (1) year <br /> shall be removed from the ground and the hole properly filled. If <br /> circumstances warrant , however , such tank may be abandoned in place and <br /> safeguarded in a manner and with material approved by this Department . <br /> PROCEDURE FOR REMOVING UNDERGROUND TANK(S) : <br /> 1 . Obtain Fire Department permit for removal of underground tank. <br /> 2 . No cutting torch or other flame or spark producing equipment shall be <br /> used until the tank has been completely purged or otherwise rendered <br /> safe . <br /> �Cor,FToK...
