4B. EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT - LOCATION AND MAINTENANCE <br /> This section describes the emergency equipment at the facility and the <br /> applicable maintenance and inspection schedules. <br /> Maintain all emergency equipment and inspect regularly according to the schedule <br /> identified in the Tables 4-1 through 4-3. <br /> Inspections involve visually checking emergency protection systems and equipment <br /> to ensure that they are in place, charged, and ready for use in the event of an <br /> emergency. <br /> Maintenance involves a more thorough examination and servicing of equipment. <br /> Maintain water supply systems at all times. <br /> 1 . Communication and/or Alarm System: <br /> Telco and PG&E telephones are located in all buildings except the Storage <br /> Building, Hazardous Waste Storage Building and the Building Department <br /> Storage Building. In addition, most PG&E vehicles are equipped with <br /> two-way radios that can be used to summon assistance in the event that <br /> telephone service is cut. <br /> A two-way radio base station is located in the Operations Building for <br /> contacting radio equipped PG&E vehicles. This station is manned 24 hours <br /> per day, seven days a week. <br /> Fire alarms are audible throughout the yard. Manual alarm pull boxes are <br /> located in the operations building. An additional , supplemental alarm bell <br /> system is in place in the Office Building to signal fire alarms for the <br /> Office Building only. <br /> Alarm systems are inspected quarterly and maintained as needed. Telephones <br /> and radios are in continual use and are maintained as needed. <br /> 2. Firefighting Equipment: <br /> A complete list of fire extinguishers and other firefighting equipment <br /> located at this facility and their maintenance schedule is presented in <br /> Table 4-1. Locations of fire extinguishers are depicted in Figure 2-1, <br /> Facility Layout. <br /> In addition, the Garage, Office Basement, Warehouse and south side of the <br /> Operations Building are protected by automatic sprinkler systems. <br /> 4-5 <br />
