Specification No . : RGS0024-87 <br /> Part II - SPECIFIC CONDITIONS <br /> Section 15 -- Painting <br /> 15 . 2 . 6 Pre-Finished Items : Unless otherwise indicated , do not <br /> include painting when factory-finishing is specified for <br /> such items as prefinished casework , finished mechanical <br /> and electrical equipment , including light fixtures . <br /> 15 . 2 . 7 Finished Metal Surfaces : Metal surfaces of anodized <br /> aluminum, stainless steel , chromium plate , copper , <br /> bronze , and similar finished materials will not require <br /> finish painting , unless otherwise indicated . <br /> 15 . 2 . 8 Operating Parts and Labels : Moving parts of operating <br /> units , mechanical and electrical parts , such as valve and <br /> damper operations , linkages , sinkages , sensing devices , <br /> motor and fan shafts will not require finish painting , <br /> unless otherwise indicated . <br /> 15 . 3 Submittals : <br /> 15 . 3 . 1 Product Data : Submit manufacturer ' s technical <br /> information including paint label analysis and <br /> application instruction for each material proposed for <br /> use . <br /> 15 . 3 . 2 Samples : Submit samples for Engineer ' s review of color <br /> and texture only . Provide a listing of material and <br /> application for each coat of each finish sample . <br /> On 12" x 12" hardboard , provide two samples of each <br /> color and material , with texture to stimulate actual <br /> conditions . Resubmit samples as requested by Engineer <br /> until acceptable sheen, color , and texture is <br /> achieved . <br /> 15 . 4 Job Conditions : <br /> 15 . 4 . 1 Apply water base paints only when temperature or surfaces <br /> to be painted and surrounding air temperatures are <br /> between 50oF and 950F . <br /> 15 .4. 2 Do not apply paint in rain, fog , or mist ; or when <br /> relative humidity exceeds 85 percent , or to damp or wet <br /> surfaces . <br /> XV-2 <br />
