Strip should end on the tap of the service at <br /> the wrap (see Figures 1 and 2). <br /> 4.4.1.2 Start a second strip on the top side of the main, <br /> going over the top of the tee and ending on the top <br /> Qf the main (see Figure 3). <br /> " 4.4.1.3 The third strip is to be applied to the side of the <br /> a1"+ service pipe, wrapping around the back of the tee <br /> _;. and along the other side of the service (see <br /> Figure 41. <br /> 4.4.1.4 After each step, conform the tape with hand <br /> ~. pressure. <br /> 4.4.. 1.5 Complete the wrap by applying a single spiral wrap <br /> i to the service tee and a standard double spiral wrap <br /> /}to the main and service pipe (see Figures 5 through <br /> 4.4, 1.6 Use 4" or wider tape to cover over top, bottom, and <br /> side of control fitting (see Figures 9 through 13). <br /> Complete the wrap by applying a standard double <br /> spiral wrap to the main and "figure-eights" around <br /> - the fitting (see Figures 14 through 16). <br /> 4.4.2 Service Connections on Mains 8" and Over <br /> Service connections off 8" and larger mains may require only <br /> a patch type wrap. In these situations. wrap the service, <br /> service tee, or control fitting as described previously. The 3 <br /> wrap on the main should be removed in a square pattern for <br /> about 6" from the welding area. The paper, whitewash, or <br /> outer wrap, etc., should be stripped back an additional 2 <br /> Select tape wide enough to cover- one-half of the window plus <br /> 2" overlay on the wrap. Slit the side of the strip to fit <br /> the base of the tee and apply twa patching strips lengthwise <br /> on either side of the tee. Repeat the process with two <br /> strips applied 900 to the first. <br /> 4.4.3 Flanged Control Fittings <br /> (Figures 17 through 28.
