Specification No . : RGS0024-87 <br /> Part II - SPECIFIC CONDITIONS <br /> Section 7 - Products and <br /> Substitutions <br /> SECTION 7 - PRODUCTS AND SUBSITUTIONS <br /> 7 . 0 This section defines and discusses products used in the <br /> work and the substitution of products . <br /> 7 . 1 Related Documents : Project plans and general conditions of <br /> the Pacific Gas and Electric Company apply to work of this <br /> section. <br /> 7 . 2 Description of Requirements : <br /> 7 . 2 . 1 Definitions : "Products " is defined to include purchased <br /> items for incorporation into the work , regardless of <br /> whether specifically purchased for project or taken from <br /> Contractor ' s . stock of previously purchased products . <br /> " Materials " is defined as products which must be <br /> substantially cut , shaped , worked , mixed , finished , <br /> refined , or otherwise fabricated , processed , installed , <br /> or applied to from units of work. "Equipment " is defined <br /> as products with operational parts regardless of whether <br /> motorized or manually operated and particularly including <br /> products with service connections ( wiring , piping , etc . ) . <br /> Definitions in this paragraph are not intended to negate <br /> the meaning of other items used in contract documents , <br /> including " specialties " , " systems " , " structure " , <br /> " finishes " , " accessories " , " furnishing " , " special <br /> c o n s t r u c t i o n " , a n d s i m i l a r t e r m s w h i c h a r e <br /> self -explanatory and have recognized meaning in the <br /> construction industry . <br /> 7 . 2 . 2 Substitutions : The requirements for substitutions do not <br /> apply to specified Contractor options on products and <br /> construction methods . Revisions to contract documents , <br /> where requested by P . G . & E . or Engineer are "changes " <br /> not " substitutions " . Requested substitutions during <br /> bidding period which have been accepted prior to contract <br /> date are included in contract document and are not <br /> subject to requirements for substitutions as specified <br /> herein . Contractor ' s determination of and compliance <br /> with governing regulations and orders issued by governing <br /> authorities do not constitute "substitutions" and do not <br /> constitute a basis for change orders , except as provided <br /> for in contract documents . Otherwise , Contractor ' s <br /> requests for changes in products , materials , and methods <br /> of construction required by contract documents are <br /> considered requests for " substitutions " and are subject <br /> to requirements hereof . <br /> VII- 1 <br />
