Specification No . : RGS0024-87 <br /> Part II - SPECIFIC CONDITIONS <br /> Section 7 - Products and <br /> Substitutions <br /> 7 . 2 . 3 Standards : Refer to "Definitions and Standards , " section <br /> for applicability of industry standards to products of <br /> project and for acronyms used in text of specification <br /> sections . <br /> 7 . 3 Quality Assurance : <br /> 7 . 3 . 1 Source Limitations : To the greater extent possible for <br /> each unit of work , provide products , materials , or <br /> equipment of a singular generic kind of a single source . <br /> 7 . 3 . 2 Compatibility_ of options : Where more than one choice is <br /> available as options for Contractor ' s selection of a <br /> product or material , select an option which is compatible <br /> with other products and materials already selected ( which <br /> may have been from among, options for those other products <br /> and materials ) . Total compatibility among options is not <br /> assured by limitations within contract documents but must <br /> be provided by Contractor . Compatibility is a basic <br /> general requirement of product/material selections . <br /> 7 . 4 Submittals : <br /> 7 . 4 . 1 Requests for Substitutions : Submit three copies , fully <br /> identified for product or method being replaced by <br /> substitution , including related specification section and <br /> drawing number ( s ) and fully documented to show compliance <br /> with requirements for substitutions . Include product <br /> data/ drawings , description of methods , samples where <br /> applicable , Contractor ' s detailed comparison of <br /> significant qualities between specified item and proposed <br /> substitution , statement of effect on construction time <br /> and coordination with other affected work , cost <br /> information or proposal , and Contractor ' s statement to <br /> the effect that proposed substitution will result in <br /> overall work equal to or better than work originally <br /> indicated . <br /> 7 . 5 Product Delivery Storage Handling: <br /> 7 . 5 . 1 General : Deliver , handle , and store products in <br /> accordance with manufacturer ' s recommendations and by <br /> methods and means which will prevent damage , <br /> deterioration , and loss including theft .
