If damage has occurred , tank shall be <br /> replaced , not repaired . <br /> Storage tanks shall be holiday tested prior to unloading <br /> at the project site . If the tank fails the holiday test , <br /> the tank shall be replaced with a new one . <br /> Storage tanks shall be tested with air pressure both <br /> before and after the tank is installed in the excavation. <br /> 9 . 9 . 3 Piping System : The entire piping system shall be <br /> disconnected from pumps and / or dispensers and tanks , and <br /> then be subjected to an air pressure test of 50 PSIG. The <br /> initial test pressure ( 50 PSIG ) should be maintained <br /> without pressure drop for 60 minutes before inspecting <br /> pipe joints , then leak tested with soap and water solution <br /> during pressure test . <br /> 9 . 9 . 4 A precision leak test shall be performed on the tank <br /> system using potable water as a medium . The water shall <br /> be removed by the Contractor only after the test indicates <br /> the system meets the state guidelines of 0 . 05 gallons of <br /> leakage per hour or less . Any repairs for a passing test <br /> shall be the Contractors responsibility , including retests . <br /> Only certified precision leak testors approved by P . G . &E . <br /> and San Joaquin Local Health District will be permitted to <br /> perform the tank testing . <br /> 9 . 10 Workmanshi2 : <br /> 9 . 10 . 1 Workmanship shall be of a standard generally accepted in <br /> the respective trade . Use only experienced , competent and <br /> properly equipped workmen . Replace work falling below <br /> this standard as directed by the Engineer . The Contractor <br /> shall supply all material , apparatus , instruments <br /> ( recently and accuratelycalibrated ) and labor required for <br /> carrying out these tests . The Contractor shall disconnect <br /> from the pressure tested system any equipment that can be <br /> damaged by the test pressure . Tanks and piping shall be <br /> cleaned and purged with compressed air before pressure <br /> tests . Tanks and piping under pressure shall not be left <br /> unattended . Tightening of a joint during pressure tests <br /> will be accepted . Any portion of the work which fails to <br /> operate properly shall be remedied by Contractor except <br /> IX-7 <br />
