A safe <br /> perimeter has been established at 10 feet around boringlexcavation. No unauthorized person <br /> should be within this exclusion area. <br /> 4.0. HAZARD EVALUATION <br /> The following substance(s) or hazards are known or suspected to be on site. <br /> SUBSTANCES INVOLVED: CONCENTRATIONS: <br /> Gasoline unknown <br /> Other organic-based products (?) unknown <br /> The primary hazards of each are identified as follows: <br /> 1. Hydrocarbon fuels - Components of fuels are colorless liquids with strong aromatic <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon-like odors. They are flammable and have low solubility in water. <br /> Exposure to these materials in excess of recommended exposure limits can cause mild eye, <br /> nose, and throat irritation and can produce a narcotic effect on the central nervous system. <br /> Symptoms of exposure at these concentrations include headache, nausea, drowsiness, <br /> dizziness,and loss of coordination. Certain components of gasoline(BTE&X etc.)are known <br /> or suspected carcinogens. <br /> The following additional hazards are expected on site: typical work related to facility.
