4fte ..i -i=M9!!fL
14 November 2002
Dennis H. Catanyag
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
Page 3
Clearwater will remove the oily wastewater into its vacuum truck and transport the
wastewater to its treatment, storage, and disposal facility in Fremont. The State of
California Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Toxic Substances Control
has issued Clearwater the Hazardous Waste Transporter Registration Number 3515.
Clearwater's treatment, storage, and disposal facility in Fremont has been assigned the
Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Identification Number CAR000007013 by the
United States Environmental Protection Agency.
During the second day, Clearwater will fill the tank with a sand/concrete slurry to
complete in-place closure procedures. The tank will not be filled until PHS/EHD
representatives have inspected the tank.
POSDEF intends on closing the tank during the week of 18 through 22 November 2002.
POSDEF would like to coordinate a date and time that PHS/EHD representatives can be
present at the POSDEF facility to inspect the tank after it has been pressure washed and
to observe the filling of the tank with the sand/concrete slung. You may coordinate this
matter with me or directly with Mr. Edward Stockton, of POSDEF, at (209) 467-3838,
extension 14. Thank you for your assistance.
Very truly yours,
Andrew N. Safford, P.E.
Project Manager
Enclosures
