Such paperwork will include
L
PHS/EI-ID's standard application forms entitled Closure In Place and Application for
Permit to Close Underground Storage Tanks Storing Hazardous Materials. After the
applications have been approved, POSDEF will retain a contractor to fill the tank with a
L
solid, inert material that meets with the approval of PHS/EHD. POSDEF will submit
required documentation to PHS/EHD pertaining to the actual in-place closure of the tank.
This documentation will include the analytical results of additional sampling described
L
herein, underground storage tank tracking record sheet, tank closure certification form,
and hazardous waste manifests, as appropriate.
LPOSDEF will also negotiate a notice to the deed of the property with the Port of Stockton
and submit this notice to PHS/EHD, if required. POSDEF leases the property at
2526 West Washington Street from the Port of Stockton. POSDEF has received a letter
Lfrom the Port of Stockton (Attachment D) granting approval to close the tank in-place
subject to approval from PHS/EHD. It should also be noted that the Port of Stockton will
Lultimately require POSDEF to remove the tank at the expiration of the lease.
} Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please do not hesitate to call me or
L Mr. Edward Stockton, of POSDEF, at (209) 467-3838, extension 14, if you have
questions or wish to discuss the technical workplan for in-place closure of the
L1,000-gallon used oil underground storage tank in greater detail.
LVery truly yours,
' ;;',%/-e
LAndrew N.
