Locate the probe input terminal on the bottom
edge of the board and connect probe wiring
according to color code designations on con-
troller wiring connection diagram.
4.2 Probe Installation (Refer to Installation
Diagrams on pages 16 and17)
Important: Each probe is identified by its Speed
of Wire and Rep. Rate numbers. These two num-
bers must be entered into the controller for (num-
ber of the individual tank) the probe is to monitor.
The Speed of Wire and Rep. Rate are listed on
the permanent label under the probe cap and
also on the yellow tag attached to the top of the
probe. When the probe is installed into the tank,
record the Tank Number and the probe's correct
Speed of Wire and Rep. Rate.
Check the tank diameter, and fill pipe height to
be sure the correct size probe has been ordered
and there is clearance from the top of the probe
to the fill pipe cap.
WARNING: To prevent personal injury,
property loss and equipment damage, take
necessary precautions to ensure that
vehicles do not enter work area.
A. Measure the distance from the bottom of the
tank to the top of the riser pipe. (B). Be sure
there is clearance between the top of the
probe and riser pipe cap. See Figure 4-2:
Tank Dimensions
B. Measure the distance from the bottom of the
tank to the bottom of the fill pipe. Add a mini-
mum of 1" to this distance. Loosen the two set
screws on the spacer ring and adjust the dis-
tance from the bottom of the probe. It should
be equal to or greater than the distance
measured above. This will ensure that the
spacer ring will be located in the probe riser
pipe when the probe is installed.
C. Using a dip -stick, measure fuel height at the
probe riser and fill riser. Enter the readings on
Table 4-1: Tank Tilt Information. IMPOR-
TANT: If readings are different, a tank tilt is in-
dicated. This information is needed at set-up
time. Be sure to take reading before the probe
is installed.
Note: For the most accurate X76 ETM perfor-
mance, use the center tank opening for the
probe riser. Any difference in the fuel height at
the fill riser and probe riser indicates a tank tilt
and the following steps should be taken immedi-
ately for ease at set-up time.
Measure the distance between fill riser and
probe riser, as well as the distance from the
FILL—
RISER
C—>•i
TANK
PROBE
RISER
A B
Tank
Dia
Dim."A"
Min.
Dim."B" Dim."C"
6'
92.62"
95.59" 4.0 Dia.
8'
116.62"
119.50' 4.0 Dia.
10'
140.62"
143.50 4.0 Dia.
Figure 4.2: Tank Dimensions.
