Cloud aka Sam Cloud
Our account#560248384-00
Attached is a copy of a letter I received from Albert Ellis, attorney for Jerold and Judith
Brannon. Mr. and Mrs. Brannon are attempting to purchase two parcels of land owned by Samuel
L. Cloud.
As I understand the proposed offer, the purchase price will be applied to satisfy the liens
held by San Joaquin County. I am currently aware of two liens held by Joaquin County: (1) a
judgment lien in the amount of$102,179.36, emanating from environment fines and subsequently
referred to my office for collection; and (2) delinquent property taxes in the amount of$13,163.84.
Since the Brannon's proposed offer requires the county to reduce its liens, I am required
to place this matter before the Board of Supervisors. My office is currently compiling information
on the judgment lien to be included in my letter to the Board.
As this offer also contains additional proposals involving other County departments, I invite
you to submit any written comments or information you may have. I will attach all comments and
supplemental information to my Board letter.
Please submit any written comments to me by July 8, 1998, so that I may schedule this
matter for the July 21, 1998, Board of Supervisor's meeting. Mr. Ellis will be notified once this
matter has been scheduled on the Board's agenda. He and his clients will have an opportunity to
address the Board.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
LSS
Enclosures
cc: Lori Whittaker, Deputy County Counsel
