CONTAINING FLEXIBLE Containment elbows and reducers along with short pieces of piping can be
CONNECTORS combined to encase the 1-1R" flemble connector to just below the shear valve_
The Containment fittings will not seal on the body of the flexible connector. A
short galvanized nipple between the end of the connector and the shear valve
should be provided for sealing of the reducer.
•, BONDING AND TESTING Bonding of primary system can only commence after Containment pipe has been
PRIMARY SYSTEM positioned over it and all final adjustments made for clearance or interference
problems. Bonding of primary lines in accordance with Ameron Bulletin 7501 can
be accomplished by sliding the Containment pipe away from the primary line
bonding area. Take care to not disturb the bonds on the primary piping before
the C20HT adhesive cures.
Primary lines must be tested before installing the Containment fittings to allow
visual and/or soap testing of primary lines and fittings.
M C[NG OF C20HT In cold weather, warming the resin to 70°F (21°C) is required to permit good
(3" & 4" Assembly) & mixing and easier application.
SC-10 ADHESIVE
(For 6" Assembly) To mix the adhesive, first empty all the hardener' into the can of resin. Mix all
of the hardener and resin in the supplied proportions, never try to split a kit.
Mix the hardener and resin thoroughly with the wooden spatula until all streaks
are gone and the adhesive has a smooth uniform color. Take care to scrape and
mix all resin from the lid and from under the upper lip of the can. Stirring too
vigorously can either cause some hardener to splash out or result in excessive air
entrapment.
• ' The hardener contained in the adhesive kits might burn the skin. Inhaling the vapors should be avoided. The
label precautions should be read and observed.
