' Underground Storage Tank Systoemoval and Assessment <br /> Sears Unit#0555, Tracy, California <br /> t1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> ' This report documents the underground storage tank(UST) system removal and soil assessment <br /> ' performed in December 2004,by MACTEC Engineering and Consulting,Inc. (MACTEC) at the Orchard <br /> Supply Hardware Warehouse,Unit#0555 located at 2650 North MacArthur Drive in Tracy, California <br /> (Site). One inactive 750 gallon UST previously containing waste oil and associated piping was removed <br /> from the ground by Three Kings Environmental,Inc. of Battle Ground,Washington(Three Kings). A <br /> ' MACTEC geologist was on-site during the UST system removal to observe the UST and soil conditions <br /> and to collect soil assessment samples from the completed excavation. Assessment samples were <br /> ' analyzed by Sequoia Analytical Laboratory,Inc. (Sequoia)of Petaluma, California to confirm the <br /> presence or absence of petroleum impacts. After removal of approximately 95 gallons of waste oil,the <br /> UST was loaded onto a flatbed truck and taken to Columbia Resources Company in Vancouver, <br /> ' Washington for disposal. Backfilling was completed with the excavation soils and clean and import soils. <br /> The excavation area was resurfaced with approximately three-inch thick asphalt. <br /> The UST was subsequently replaced with a 550 gallon aboveground storage tank(AST)located inside the <br /> twarehouse building. This report also presents general installation and specification details for the AST. <br /> ' This report provides site information, describes UST system removal procedures,contains results of the <br /> soil assessment,and presents conclusions and recommendations for this project. <br /> ' 1 MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Inc. <br />
