9 <br /> The following actions are required within 90 days of cessation of hazardous substance storage in the USTs <br /> (approximately 90 days after February 1,2012),as directed by CCR Title 23 §2670: <br /> 1. Apply for a permit to temporarily close the UST as directed in CCR Title 23 §2671. Temporary closure of <br /> the UST will require an approved permit from the EHD before start of work. Temporary closure can be <br /> done for a maximum of 12 months before placing the UST back into service. <br /> 2. Apply for a permit to permanently close the UST as directed in CCR Title 23 §2672. Permanent closure of <br /> the UST will require an approved permit from the EHD before start of work. <br /> All EHD staff time associated with failing to comply is billed at the department rate,currently$125/hour.
