Please be aware that <br /> inspections for emergency work must be scheduled within five days of permit approval. <br /> a. Annular sensor functionality for T-4 gear oil, T-5 motor oil and T-6 waste oil tanks: <br /> Functionality of the monitoring system must be verified to ensure that monitoring has <br /> been restored to meet the requirements of Title 23 California Code of Regulations <br /> and the Health & Safety Code. <br /> i. Functionality for T-5 motor oil annular sensor- completed on 02/28/11. <br /> ii. Functionality for T-4 gear oil annular sensor- completed on 03/09/11. <br /> iii. Functionality for T-6 waste oil annular sensor <br /> b. Verify position placement of sensors: ensure the monitoring equipment is capable of <br /> detecting a leak at the earliest possible opportunity. <br /> i. Placement of T-5 motor oil annular sensor- completed on 02/28/11. <br /> ii. Placement of T-3 antifreeze annular sensor, T-4 gear oil annular sensor, <br /> L-2 diesel sump and L-14 waste oil sump sensor- completed on <br /> 03/09/11. <br /> iii. Placement of T-6 waste oil annular sensor <br /> c. Verify corrosion protection prior to backfill: <br /> i. T-4 gear oil annular riser— completed on 02/28/11. <br /> ii. T-6 waste oil annular riser, direct bury spill bucket riser and vapor riser <br /> d. Secondary containment testing on T-4 gear oil tank, T-6 waste oil tank, their piping <br /> and other affected piping. <br /> i. T-4 gear oil tank and sump — completed on 03/09/11 <br /> ii. T-6 waste oil tank and other associated piping <br /> e. Spill bucket test: Verify minimum 5-gallon capacity on T-6 waste oil bucket and pass <br /> a one hour hydrostatic test (or equivalent). Proper drainage must also be verified. <br /> f. Verify external audio and visual alarms will activate when tanks are 90% full and ball <br /> floats are already installed for all tanks <br /> g. Overfill prevention verification: <br /> i. Measurement of T-6 waste oil drop tube to verify 95% tank volume shut <br /> off if needed <br /> Please be aware that the facility cannot operate the T-6 waste oil tank prior to the <br /> EHD inspection and approval. <br /> - Approved to operate T-5 motor oil tank on 02/28/11. <br /> - Approved to operate T-4 motor oil tank on 03/09/11. <br /> 5. Since concrete will be broken near the waste oil tank and its piping, a secondary <br /> containment test must be performed on both the waste oil tank, its piping and any other <br /> pipings in the vicinity once concrete is poured in accordance with the manufacturer's <br /> guidelines. <br /> 6. Qualified service technicians must possess or work under the direct and personal <br /> supervision of an individual physically present at the work site who possesses all of the <br /> following: <br /> a. One of several permissible valid, current contractor's licenses issued by the <br /> Contractors State License Board (may be issued to the installation company), or a <br /> Tank Tester's license issued to the individual by the State Water Board, and <br /> b. A valid, current California UST Service Technician certificate issued by the <br /> International Code Council (ICC), and <br /> 2 <br />
