E <br />Standard Double -Wall <br />Tanks <br />Standard Double -Wall Tank <br />Specifications <br />Monitoring capabilities - <br />the following restrictions apply <br />for the various types of double- <br />wall tank monitors: <br />a) Hydrostatic Tank Monitor - <br />tank burial depth must not <br />exceed 7' from tank top to <br />finish grade. <br />The monitoring cavity must <br />be4 vented to the atmosphere. <br />The optional reservoir sensor, <br />supplied by O/C TANKS, is <br />designed to automatically vent <br />the monitoring cavity. <br />b) Liquid sensors -when <br />cavity monitors which <br />Nominal Actual <br />Tank Model <br />0 <br />detect the presence of a <br />liquid are used, the cavity <br />between the inner and <br />outer tank may be either <br />vented to the atmosphere <br />or sealed. <br />c) Vacuum monitoring -when <br />vacuum monitoring is used, <br />the maximum vacuum is 3" <br />mercury (1.5 psi maximum). <br />Tank burial depth must not <br />exceed three feet. <br />d) Positive air,pressure <br />monitoring -when positive <br />air pressure monitoring is <br />used, the maximum air <br />pressure is 3 psi. <br />e) Gasoline vapor sensors - <br />when gasoline vapor sensors <br />are used, the cavity between <br />the inner and outer tank <br />may be either vented to the <br />atmosphere or sealed. <br />Standard Tank Notes <br />1. Standard pipe fittings to the <br />primary tank are 4" NPT <br />half couplings. All tanks <br />include one manway with, <br />at least, three fittings to the <br />primary tank located in the <br />manway cover. All other <br />primary tank fittings are <br />mounted on the tank. Addi- <br />tional manways and tank <br />fittings are available on <br />made-to-order tanks. <br />2. Tank bottom deflector plates <br />are standard under every <br />manway and fitting. <br />3. All Model "P" tanks include <br />a Fiberglas reservoir, used <br />for leak monitoring, integrally <br />constructed to the tank top. <br />The reservoir includes one <br />4" NPT half coupling fitting <br />(6" NPT fittings for 10' dia- <br />meter tanks) mounted on <br />the top of the reservoir <br />allowing access to the <br />cavity between the inner <br />and outer tank walls. <br />4. In addition to the monitoring <br />fitting located in the Fiberglas <br />reservoir, tanks 4000 gallon <br />capacity and larger include <br />one additional monitoring <br />fitting (4" NPT) located at <br />the tank top.
