• SECTION A <br /> SUMMARY OF WORK <br /> This section provides a summary of the planned removal activities at Tracy <br /> Auxiliary Field No. 5, Tracy, California. It also provides a brief description of site <br /> background, scope of work, permits, approach, and estimated schedule for the <br /> project. <br /> A1.0 SITE BACKGROUND <br /> Tracy Municipal Airport or Tracy Auxiliary Field No. 5 is located in the City of Tracy, <br /> San Joaquin County, California. Figure A-1 shows the site location. The field was <br /> operated as an auxiliary landing field during the period from 1942 to 1947. It is now <br /> serving commuter flights. <br /> Records and geophysical survey indicate that there is a high probability that an <br /> underground storage tank (UST) is present in a vacant area west of the main <br /> entrance and south of Hanger No. 3. Figure A-2 shows approximate tank location <br /> and Figure A-3 shows features in the tank area. This tank has a capacity of <br /> 10,000-gallon and contains diesel fuel. <br /> • A2.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The scope of work for Delivery Order No. 0012 will entail the following: <br /> • Flushing the contents of the fuel lines into the 10,000-gallon UST and <br /> removal and disposal of liquids and sludge in the tank. <br /> • Removal and disposal of the 10,000-gailon USr. <br /> • Removal and disposal of approximately 100 linear feet of fuel lines. <br /> • Sampling and analysis of soil and water present in the excavation. <br /> • Sampling excavated, stockpiled soil and disposing of contaminated soil. <br /> • Compacting and final grading surfaces to match the original grade of the <br /> site. <br /> Required permits and approach are presented in the sections that follow. <br /> A-1 <br />
