0 0 <br /> • C5.5 Decontamination Procedures <br /> All equipment will be steam cleaned, pressure washed or otherwise decontaminated <br /> onsite, within the exclusion zone. Water from the decontamination process will be <br /> collected, analyzed, and disposed of in accordance with analytical results. All employees <br /> must thoroughly decontaminate their PPE before exiting the exclusion zone. <br /> The following general decontamination methods will be used: <br /> • All equipment used in the exclusion zone (sampling containers, monitoring <br /> instruments, clipboards, and safety glasses) will be deposited on plastic sheets. <br /> These items may not be placed here if contaminated. <br /> • Boots, hard hats, and tools will be washed and scrubbed with laboratory grade <br /> detergent and rinsed with water at the end of excavation. These will be hung up or <br /> otherwise placed in a decontamination shed when workers clean up. <br /> • Disposable coveralls will be removed and disposed of in a clearly markedbarrel line <br /> with plastic. <br /> • The respirator, if used or removed from its storage bag, will be washed in a respirator <br /> • sanitizing solution, then hung to air dry in a clean environment (support zone) and <br /> stored in a sealed, sterilized plastic bag. <br /> • Gloves will be removed and disposed of in a barrel lined with plastic. <br /> C5.6 Emergency Procedures <br /> Situations which could occur requiring an emergency response action are listed below: <br /> • A sudden release of hazardous vapor/combustible gases during excavation or <br /> contaminated soil handling operations. <br /> • Damage to a natural gas line. <br /> • Explosion of an underground storage tank during removal from the excavation. <br /> • A heavy equipment related or personal injury accident. <br /> • A list of emergency response agencies and their telephone numbers and Route to <br /> the Hospital Map are included in Attachment 6 and 7.
