0 <br /> 513.6.2 Tank Cleaning - Interior <br /> The interior of the tank will be cleaned at least twice and then a final cleaning will be <br /> performed (rinsate). A sample of the final rinsate will be analyzed by a State certified <br /> laboratory to ensure the tank is clean. All rinsates will be stored in a bulk storage <br /> container until filled. Analytical results on the rinsates will be reviewed prior to disposing <br /> of any rinsates. If the laboratory results indicate rinsing procedures were not effective, <br /> the cleaning and rinsing process will be repeated. <br /> 513.6.3 Associated Tank Piping and Tank Appurtenances <br /> The above procedures also apply to the cleansing of all associated piping and tank <br /> appurtenances. Appurtenances include, but are not limited to pumps, valves, concrete <br /> saddles, hold-down pads, and vaults. <br /> 513.7 TANK DISPOSAL <br /> 513.7.1 Tank Removal from Job Site <br /> The Contractor is responsible for securing any Manifest will be secured as required by <br /> Federal, State, or local regulations prior to transport of the USTs from the job site. After <br /> inspection is completed and the tank is inerted and made safe, the tank and/or piping <br /> will immediately be loaded for transportation. Clean tanks will not be permitted to remain <br /> overnight on the job site. <br /> 513.7.2 Certificates of Destruction <br /> The Certificate of Destruction for each tank will be obtained within 7 days of delivering <br /> the tanks to a TSD facility. <br /> 513.8 FIELD SAMPLING <br /> 513.8.1 Sampling <br /> Upon completion of tank removal activities, the project manager, in consultation with the <br /> representative from the local implementing agency, will direct field personnel on the <br /> number and location of all samples for analysis. Samples will be collected in pre-cleaned <br /> containers in accordance with applicable local, State and Federal regulations. Sample <br /> handling and storage procedures are outlined in ES-507. <br /> 513.9 SITE RESTORATION <br /> The tank and/or piping excavations will not be closed until laboratory results of soil <br /> samples have been reviewed and the local implementing agency has approved the <br /> closure activities. The excavation will be backfilled and compacted using clean <br /> excavated material or clean imported material in accordance with applicable local, State <br /> 6 <br />
