Petroleum piping
• Slope the product and vaporretum pipe
'/a inch per foot (minimum) from dispensers
to storage tanks. • Properstation layout calls
forconduits and petroleum piping to be in
separate trenches orsegregatedin tank
excavation areas. • If conduits must cross
product lines, they shall do so at a 90° angle.
Sumps and dispenser
pans
• Do not run petroleum piping in the same
trench with electrical conduits. • Petroleum
lines should enteron one side of the
dispenserpan and electrical conduits on the
otherside as shown here. • When property
installed, flex connectors will make smooth,
uniform bends without kinks; they will not
cross over, rub against or touch one another,
nserpipes or the sides of dispenserpans
and sumps • Impact valves should remain
capped at all times during construction to
keep debris out of lines.
• The maximum allowable penetration
angle at sumps is 20°. • Perpendicular
penetration of sumps is preferred;
perpendicularpenetration of dispenser
pans is required.
J
