Guidelines assume light to moderate work and may need to be modified <br /> further based on the level of PPE worn. <br /> • 5.9.3 Personnel Overating Procedures <br /> • Do not walk through areas of obvious or known contamination. <br /> • Do not handle or touch contaminated materials directly. <br /> • Make sure all PPE has no cuts or tears prior to donning. <br /> • Inspect the integrity of the PPE regularly. <br /> • Fasten all closures on suits, covering with tape if necessary. <br /> • Take particular care to protect any existing skin injuries. <br /> • Stay upwind of airborne contaminants. <br /> • Do not carry cigarettes, gum, etc. into contaminated areas. <br /> • Refer to Site Safety Officer for specific concerns for each individual site task. Do not climb <br /> over/under drums, or other obstacles and always employ the buddy system. <br /> • Practice contamination avoidance, on- and off-site.
