Find and show all Fire Extinguishers. Advise site to use only if <br /> they feel they are able to. <br /> Earthquake <br /> • If there is an earthquake <br /> o turn off the emergency shut-off <br /> o evacuate site <br /> o contact manager <br /> o meet at the emergency meeting location <br /> • Before opening the site complete a visual inspection of the canopy and dispensers to ensure <br /> customers are not in immanent danger. If there is a threat of immanent danger do not reopen the <br /> dispensers and notify supervisor of the immanent danger. <br /> • For earthquakes with a magnitude of 5.5 or greater require an inspection of a maintenance <br /> contractor to ensure gasoline inventories are secure. <br /> Gas Containers <br /> Gas can only be dispensed into approved containers. No plastic bottles (other than plastic gas <br /> cans) because they will melt. <br /> Costco Policies <br /> • If a Member is smoking on the forecourt: <br /> o Ask the Member to extinguish the cigarette or ask the Member to step 20 ft away from the <br /> pump and offer to pump the gas for the Member. <br /> o If the Member refuses either of the options the employee is to stop the pump by pushing up <br /> the flapper in the nozzle carriage. <br /> • If a Member spills gasoline on their clothes: <br /> o Offer to provide replacement clothing from the warehouse <br /> o Help clean clothing with FM 186 and provide a bag. <br /> Costco Designated Operator Training April 2013 <br /> Page 3 of 3 <br />
