FM:KPA To:FW: Can you please Fax (12094683433)
19:03 10/05/15 ET Pg 3-17
14: Toxic Considerations: Used mineral -based crankcase oil is the brown-to-black,oilyliguid removed from
the enCine of a motor vehicle when the oil is changed. It is similar to unused oil except it contains additional
chemicals from its use as an engine lubricant. The chemicals in oil include hydrocarbons which are distilled
from crude oil, and various additives that improve the oil's performance. Used oil also contains chemicals
formed when the oil is exposed to high temperatures and pressures inside an engine. It also contains some
inetals from engine parts and small amounts of gasoline, antifreeze, and chemicals that come from gasoline
when it burns inside the engine.
15. AST secondary containment (mate-rial/design/listed) AST has integral secondary containment via cinder
block concrete berm. There are 3 tanks within the berm and al_lowin_e for displacement from the other A_STs,_
the capaciLy of secondary storage is 910 gals, which is larger than the coftents af the lar est container within
the berm. There is ade nate secondat ca aci to account for freeboard reci nation in the perm. 'I'hete isis
no valve in the berm to release water and such operations are accomplished manually. _
16. Damage to AST or systems. No damage reported by 0m ner/6lperator
17. Comments There is slight oil residue at the base of this tank. but there are no leaks nor evidence of tank
overfills. There is a 2 %2 in threaded plug at base of AST and owner/oneratot• has been advised to maintain
this plus.— - --
z by scheduling a time to remove the plum and seal the threads. This should obviously be undertaken
at a time when the tank is empty.
a.
